Happy Birthday Kaden!

Five years ago today, my life was forever changed for the better:-) Today I am celebrating my son Kaden's 5th birthday.  He brings me so much joy everyday and we have so many awesome moments together. Today he is having two celebrations, one that I planned at his school and another one when he gets home. YAY!  And that means three sinfully delicious cakes.  We love Costco cakes! Those are the best! So I got him a Costco cake for his school party and since he is a Power Ranger Samurai fanatic, I got him a Power Ranger Samurai cake from the bakery to have for his home celebration. I also made him a delicious cake from scratch to have at home.  When I was a kid, my mother made all of our cakes. In fact, I don't recall very many bakery cakes growing up because my mother always made them.

I have fond memories of those homemade cakes, so for that reason I also make my son's cakes. Even if I get a bakery cake, he can always count on a homemade cake from  mom lovingly baked in the kitchen. I don't think anything compares to whipping up that batter, walking into a house that smells like sugar and love:-) And then taking that first bite of moist fluffy cake and rich homemade buttercream frosting. Do you agree?  And now I have lots and lots of photos to share.  This is going to be a photo heavy post dedicated to my amazing son!

This was my son's first Halloween. Awwwwwwww

 Birthday number one!

Kaden even got a surprise visit from his Dad and a cute balloon bouquet:-)
And here are even more Balloons I got for Kaden's home celebration!

Presents!

 And more presents!

We are on the way to a restaurant for dinner and my angel is asleep smiling. Believe it or not, he is really asleep:-)

We are about to have a sumptious dinner!
Kaden and his Godmom:-)

Kaden was too full to enjoy his complimentary dessert. A big ol chocolate chip cookie warm from the over with a scoop of ice cream. Um. guess who had to eat it for him...LOL

When we got home, Kaden was able to indulge in this delicious homemade rainbow cake nestled on a bed of colored sprinkles.

My son was absolutely thrilled with the cake I made for him:-)

Kaden had an amazing birthday! Thank you for letting me share it with you:-)

Does Your Cup have a hole in it?

 My cup runneth over...
That's what we all want in life. A full cup. Right? Your cup in life will never be full or overflow until you understand one fundamental truism in life. You can never have a full cup if yours has a hole in it.

Anything you pour into a cup with a hole will trickle out either slowly or quickly depending on how big the hole is because that cup with the hole has the capacity to receive only what a cup with a hole in it can hold.

 Which is almost nothing

The holes in our lives are usually negative thoughts or negative people. Most of the time it is usually both. There is only one way to seal the hole in your cup. Anything that holds you back from your personal best, stops you from believing in yourself and your dreams, prevents you from being a better person, encourages you to accept mediocrity,  GET RID OF IT. And then put your faith and your trust in God.

Because the ultimate blessing is for you to have more than a full cup because a full cup is just enough for you, but a cup that runneth over is enough for you and others. It is never just for you. Here is to a cup that runs over and drips onto the saucer. Thats what abundance looks like:-)

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over - Psalm 23

Little Black Dress

Happy Monday! I wanted to share these photos from a couple of days ago when the weather was nice and I had the opportunity to wear my little black dress on a fun outing. Every woman has a little black dress in her wardrobe and it is so fun to get dressed up and go somewhere:-) I accented my dress with a gorgeous handmade ivory cardigan designed by the amazing Danielle Celeste of Danielle Celeste Couture.  I would like to thank Danielle Celeste for such an amazing design that I am beyond thrilled to have as a part of my wardrobe. If you want to see more of her designs or have a custom piece created, check her out by clicking here.

I like to call this look "Edgy Audrey" A classic Audrey Hepburn little black dress with a couple of edgy accessories (lace up boots and an animal print clutch) Usually when I wear a little black dress, I always opt for a very classic look with traditional pumps, but I think its fun to step outside of how you would normally wear something and try something different.  This look came together when I could not find my black pumps and needed to get dressed quickly and added the boots as a last minute decision.

I hope your week is off to a great start! I am super excited about this week because my son's birthday is Friday and I have all kinds of surprises lined up for him. I also want to encourage you to stop by in a day or two, I have a great message for you and I don't want you to miss it. It will help you in your life, so be sure to check it out.

Ivory Cardigan: Gifted by Danielle Celeste Couture, Little Black Dress: Windsor, Lace up Boots: Dereon, Leopard Clutch: Ebay, Pearl Necklace: JC Penney, Cocktail Ring: Private Boutique
I normally wouldn't wear this type of necklace with the type of neckline on this dress, but for some reason, I thought it worked this time

I love the detail on this beautiful cardigan. Such beautiful craftsmanship.

These boots were made for walking...
I love the femininity and softness of this gorgeous cardigan. It has such a flowiness that can be styled so many ways and the asymmetrical cut is so beautiful.

Have an amazing day!
