Holiday Cheer!

I love the holiday season! Experiencing the holidays with Children is always magical, so I am sharing a few holiday snapshots of me and my son:-) Enjoy!

Breakfast with Santa at the Music Center has become one of our family traditions:-) My son had a great time. Three generations here:-)

Decorating cookies!

Nothing like a Gingerbread Man

Okay, not perfect, but eating it is the fun part

Priceless

My cutie pie in the rear view mirror

Another one of our Christmas traditions is to go to Candy Cane Lane. They have an amazing display of decorated homes

My son got such a thrill out of all the Christmas displays

it was dark out but my son wanted to take this selfie

isn't this beautiful?

Happy Holidays!

And of course we always bake sugar cookies

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from us to you! What are your holiday traditions?

Orange you glad?

I really really love this time of year. Pumpkin spice latte's, holiday shopping, Christmas and spending time with all of those people that make life a little bit more special. What's not to love?  I am looking forward to the holiday traditions I enjoy every year with my son and lots of good holiday eating. Don't you love a nice holiday sugar fix? I know I do. LOL

I have been staying busy with a number of projects and have been enjoying connecting with friends so that I have some pleasant distractions from work. One of the best distractions is unexpected packages on the doorstep and the anticipation of waiting to open them.  There are a few packages that came last week and I have to fight the urge to rip into those boxes to see what surprises came for me. One more week and I get to open them:-) I still get excited on Christmas morning just like my little one does, but I always  reinforce the true meaning of Christmas so that he always understands that Christmas is about more than receiving gifts. It is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This time of year a lot of us focus on dark colors, but those of you that know me, know that I love a burst of color even in the winter. I paired classic neutral colors with  bold orange pants and a touch of animal print.

Do you wear bright colors in the winter?

I am all about comfort when it comes to shoes and love a stylish shoe that won't make my feet hurt. These are pretty comfortable

I hope  your week is off to a great start

Have an amazing day!

Manspiration

There is nothing like a little manspiration. Is that a word? LOL!I just love menswear inspired fashion. I have shopped in the men's department for years. There is an abundance of well tailored and fashion forward clothing that is perfect for adding a feminine twist. For those days when I don't wear heels, you will often find me in a stylish pair of oxfords.

I love oxfords like this that add a little pizazz to an outfit.

Do you like menswear inspired looks?

I made todays look a little more androgynous, but I love to style masculine items with feminine flair such as a blazer with a bustier or a very masculine jacket and tailored pants with stilettos and feminine accessories. So how do you like to style your mens wear inspired looks?

So how is your Christmas shopping going? Have a great day!

Huckleberry Cafe (LV's LA)

Huckleberry is a Santa Monica eatery known for using high quality ingredients and fresh produce from local farms. This is a farm to table restaurant where everything is made on site. Organic flour, Vahlrona Chocolate and lots of produce from local farmers. Everything is fresh and delicious, but there is a price to pay for the high quality of food.  It is worth the splurge every once in a while because the quality of food is so superb.

Food lovers can enjoy fresh baked bread, pastries, and savory dishes in a rustic inviting atmosphere. Like most great eateries, Huckleberry is always crowded, especially on the weekend. This is a pay first, find a seat after establishment. You pay and they bring your food to you. They have a policy that you cannot have anyone hold a table for you, so if you come during peak hours it can be a challenge. The challenge is increased if you have a child with you because you have to scramble around hoping you find somewhere to sit. Don't come here if you are in a hurry because you will definitely wait in line.
The Thursday night family dinners at Huckleberry are a great way to enjoy a meal here with your kids. The meals are $30.00 and include appetizers an entree and dessert. Kids eat for half price and if they are 5 and under they eat for free. The menu constantly evolves with the seasons and the fresh produce available from local farms find its way into the many different dishes. The Thursday night dinners is a great concept with some pretty amazing food, although some of it might not be palatable to a child's finicky taste buds. But if you are lucky enough to come on a night when there is fried chicken or fish n chips, it will please even the pickiest of children:-)

Their is a great selection of pastries.

Definitely a great place for a sugar fix to go with your coffee

Decisions Decisions
 Doesn't this look delicious?

This lemon poppy seed cake was so moist and delicious. Every bite was bursting with lemony goodness. Would it be wrong to buy a whole loaf and have it for dinner?

This roasted brussel sprout salad was flavorful and a great complement to the rest of the meal

Turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with spring salad. Fresh and Delicious
If you are in Santa Monica, this is a great place to grab a bite before you hit the beach or the many shops in Santa Monica. Make sure you get some treats to take home and enjoy. I promise that around midnight when you can't sleep and are channel surfing, you will thank me when you reach into that bag and find something tasty to munch on.
