No Sleep

Life is a series of moments and if you don't stop to appreciate and savor them, they are gone forever. Some of us are sleep walking through life, but we need to be alert and treat each day as a gift from God.

Stay awake
Walk into some new dreams and goals, while you
redefine the old ones

Take life as it comes...one day at a time

Shine like the jewelry you are wearing

Look ahead, not behind you because you are not going that way. Your purpose is in front of you..
Have an amazing day!

Black White and Leopard

Hey loves! This is a quick post with the classic combo of black and white. I added my animal print clutch for more color and texture. I tend to remix and wear what I have in my closet, rather than shopping all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping, but I have a pretty big wardrobe and like to get as much mileage out of it as I can.

Blazer: Macys, T-Shirt H&M, White pants, boutique, Clutch: Ebay, Photography: Stacey Gutierrez

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know I love wearing double cuffs

I love the long line cut of this blazer and it pairs well with anything.

These were one of my favorite summer shoes, but I had to throw them a way because the heel on one of them cracked. Don't you hate when you have to trash a cute pair of shoes?

So what have you been up to?

Manspiration

There is nothing like a little manspiration. Is that a word? LOL!I just love menswear inspired fashion. I have shopped in the men's department for years. There is an abundance of well tailored and fashion forward clothing that is perfect for adding a feminine twist. For those days when I don't wear heels, you will often find me in a stylish pair of oxfords.

I love oxfords like this that add a little pizazz to an outfit.

Do you like menswear inspired looks?

I made todays look a little more androgynous, but I love to style masculine items with feminine flair such as a blazer with a bustier or a very masculine jacket and tailored pants with stilettos and feminine accessories. So how do you like to style your mens wear inspired looks?

So how is your Christmas shopping going? Have a great day!

Clashing plaids and stripes

Now that the holidays are over, I have been working hard on getting my sweet tooth in check. My green smoothies made with my nutribullet have just about erased my obsession with all things sugary. I hung out with a friend in Little Tokyo and passed up the Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream that I usually can't resist. Little Tokyo has so many great restaurants if you love all varieties of Asian food, which I do! This is such a great spot to grab some tea or have a great lunch or dinner. I will be posting about some of my favorite dining spots in this area soon:-)

I have some very subtle pattern mixing going on with with my stripes and plaids. It is a clash of sorts, but I think it works. I am participating in a link party with DC Style. Join us by clicking here

Do you have any holiday eating to undo? LOL
Holiday Hips: courtesy of Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner and all of those boxes of candy, cookies, and cakes that kept magically arriving on my doorstep during the holidays

These boots are so comfortable. I have been wearing them quite a bit. Don't you love a comfortable pair of boots?

Skirt as a top

Happy Monday! I hope your holidays were amazing! Mine certainly were:-) Can you believe this is the last Saturday of 2013? My holiday season has been full of blessings. I got a Nutri Bullet for Christmas, so green smoothies here I come! I usually start each year off with spring cleaning, which means donating clothes. I came across a hi low skirt and debated on if I wanted to keep it or not. I try my best to stay away from items that are too trendy because sooner or later they end up in my donation bag, but sometimes clothing items can be worn multiple ways. I looked at the silhouette of this skirt and thought it would work fabulously as a top. Now thats what I call fashion recycling! Completely remixing a high low skirt is a great trick, especially if it has a nice looking pattern.

My hi low skirt now has a new life as a top that I can layer. Have you ever worn your skirts as a top?

It seems like my fingers are naked when I don't have a ring on of some sort. Are you like that?

Cardigan: New York and Company, Hi Low Skirt: System, Bag: c/o Mimi Boutique, Boots: Macys

This is the way I originally styled my skirt over a year ago. You can see more of this post here

This has a different vibe when worn as a top and I doubt I will wear this as a skirt anymore. I am not feeling the high low hemline anymore. I prefer classic and timeless, but I do love to have fun with trends every so often. So how are you feeling about hi low skirts and dresses these days?

I love the detail on this bag. It is the perfect color to wear with just about anything and it has such a luxe look. I love it! If you are not familiar with Mimi Boutique. You should become acquainted with them real quick because you will love everything on their site. Check them out here

I love riding boots and they are always so super comfortable.

I love hoop earrings. Really really love them

So, how are you liking my skirt as a top?

This handbag has great craftsmanship. Mimi Boutique truly has some amazing accessories.

Have you ever recycled any of your clothes in a clever way?

Change of Life

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start. I am going through an interesting time. We have all seen those funny commercials with women feverishly fanning themselves and everyone else is freezing cold. I knew something was odd about having continuous personal summers, being unable to sleep at night and suddenly waking up to a bigger a** and hips that seem to spread like pancake batter on a grill.

It was odd. Remarkably odd.

And then he said the three words no young woman wants to hear from her doctor. "Change of Life" Genetics are a funny thing. It seems that I have a genetic link that has brought this rite of passage to me a couple of decades early. Sometimes I feel like sleeping on a blanket of ice and other times I am shivering. Life cannot be predicted. It's just funny that way. This is almost like a joke, but its not funny to me. But you've gotta learn to laugh so you don't cry. I am still working on that. I've almost got it:-)

I don't plan on wearing granny glasses on a chain around my neck  and  sensible shoes anytime soon. Has life every thrown something at you that knocked the wind out of you? I have had more of those types of experiences than I care to remember. I am in one right now.

Top: F-21, Pants: Macys (old) Shoes: BCBG, Purse: Los Angeles Fashion District

Sometimes you have to smile in spite of.

I have always loved cat eye glasses...MEOW

I love chain necklaces. This one came from an old purse

I love wedges, they are so comfortable. Do you like wedge heels?

It is almost getting to cold to wear this top without a blazer over it, but I am not complaining. I am glad the heatwave is over.
 Have a great week!
