A smart person puts distance between people and situations that cause them pain. Most of the time when we cut people off, we have a good reason. The sad part is when they fail to realize that they gave us the scissors. It takes a very mature person to do the hard work of examining their actions and an even bigger person to admit when they did or said something they shouldn't have, but most people go for the path of least resistance and don't right their wrong. This is what often makes it necessary to cut with surgical precision. It is never easy, but sometimes it is very necessary to cut cut cut certain people out of your life. Have you ever had to do that?

Gray Day
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great Valentines Day last week. Mine was absolutely fantastic! Today I am wearing a neutral palette with a touch of red. It has been pretty warm lately, but now the weather is starting to cool off a little, so it was perfect for liquid leggings and a tunic.
Stay tuned later this week for the upcoming giveaway details. I really hope you enter and it is going to be a really fun one.

Magnolia Bakery (LV's LA)
Are you a cupcake or sweet fanatic like me? I know sugar is bad for me, but I really like it. You too? Great! we can be good friends:-) I had cupcakes at the original Magnolia Bakery in New York and fell in love, so I couldn't wait to try the Los Angeles location. My expectations were pretty high since I had already experienced the original location in Manhattan.
My son and I celebrated Valentines Day by having some treats at Magnolia Bakery and as much as I wanted to love the cupcakes I didn't. They were just ok to me, but you know what I would go back for?
The banana pudding.
Just so you understand, I don't like bananas. They might find their way into my mouth through a smoothie or in banana bread or muffins, but you will never see me peel a banana and eat it. But this banana pudding was light, fluffy and delicious. I just might learn to like bananas after eating this.
My son makes every day amazing! So fun to celebrate Valentines Day with him:-)
Ready to sink my teeth into some chocolate
This did satisfy my chocolate fix, but you could put chocolate on a pencil and I would probably eat it
little fingers about to dip into frosting
My little guy is pretty excited about his cupcake
He is even more thrilled with his ring
Okay, so the cupcakes didn't do it for me, but look at all this other stuff
How you doin?
Lots of cakes to choose from and most are also sold by the slice
It is pretty cute in here
So much to choose from
Yes, I know they look good...
full of smiles. I love it!
We got these cute cupcakes. Mini me is not crazy about chocolate. Imagine that...
When you come to Magnolia Bakery, put your money on the Banana pudding
A brief moment of silence
This stuff right here
Doesn't this look good?
And of course I had to bring some home where I could be a pig in private. I'm funny that way
Great spot to have a cup of coffee and a a sweet treat and very kid friendly. Parking can be a challenge, but there are plenty of meters and street parking if you don't mind a short walk and after eating all those treats, you will probably need to walk:-)

Make Someone Happy
I really take delight in making people happy. I have always been that way. I give a lot even when I have little, but that is a part of my DNA. I never expect anything in return because the joy is in doing something to make someone smile:-) We all have the power to make others happy and sometimes it is the smallest things that put a smile on someones face. When we think of others before we think of ourselves we have the power to change how someone feels by the generosity or thoughtfulness we extend towards them.
You have the power to make someone happy. Do it!

Green +Stripes
Happy Monday! Can you believe that Valentine's Day is this Friday? This week also marks my three year Blogiversary. Since this week is so hectic for me, I will announce the giveaway next week. Stay tuned because it is going to be a super fun giveaway:-) I am really excited about the brands I have partnered with. Do you have any Valentines Day plans? I am looking forward to doing something fun with my son:-)
Today I am wearing some light layers, which is perfect for weather that is often neither hot, nor cold. I paired a green top with stripes and a touch of animal print with my pumps. I love that these shoes have a gold heel. It adds that extra something. I think most women love clothes and have shoe obsessions. I wish I was one of those women that had a whole room for my closet because I have always had a big wardrobe and an insane shoe collection that I have had to fit into a tiny closet and this has been for most of my working life, but you have to find ways to make it work and there are worse problems to have. Right?
Top: Michael Kors, Striped Tee: Forever 21, Handbag: Michael Kors, Shoes: Louise Et, Cie
I like the fact that these shoes are very comfortable. You will hear me echo this sentiment a lot because I don't like shoes that hurt my feet. I am able to walk several blocks in these shoes and feel comfortable. There are some shoes that I know I can never walk a long distance in, but these are not one of them. If I have a shoe that I even think might hurt my feet to walk in, I keep a pair of ballerina flats in my purse and I have no shame in putting them on. I find that shoes with a chunkier heel are usually more comfortable, or those with a hidden platform. Can you walk a long way in stilettos without your feet hurting?
I already have cupcakes on the brain. Thinking about the sweet treats I plan to indulge in on Valentines Day:-) If you need some inspiration on Valentine treats to make, be sure to check out my chocolate cupcake recipe with flaming strawberries here, or my rosewater ice cream recipe here. These are guaranteed to make a statement:-)
You know food can by stylish too. Right?
I am smiling even though I got some disappointing news today. I did cry after I got the news, but I had a talk with God and I feel better now:-)
I live in jeans because they are so easy to dress up or down. Do you agree?
This week I am linking up with these lovely bloggers: Style Elixir The Pleated Poppy Living in Color Style Lifes a Party Dress Like it and KarlyKim. If you want to join the fun, click on these links and meet some great bloggers:-)
I hope your day is as amazing as you are
