Cayenne Pepper

Hey Loves! I hope life has been treating you well. I have been busy and focused on other things, so I have not posted as often. Summer has officially started for my son, so I have lots of fun activities to look forward to with him. The weather lately has been strange strange strange with many days gray and dark and then sunshine late in the day. Sunny days always put me in a better mood and there are plenty of those coming and a big heat wave. I love clear blue skies and sunshine, but not extreme heat, so I am not looking forward to the heatwave. Although I am not looking forward to the scorching days ahead, they do give me an excuse to go the beach:-)

My outfit today is simple and classic with a white button down shirt, jeans and a bold color POP from my red shoes. In a previous post I mentioned the color red being like Cayenne Pepper  and these shoes make me think of Cayenne Pepper because you only need a hint of it and fires up everything it touches, just like the color red. Do you agree?

White Shirt: DKNY, Jeans: Gap, Purse: Roberta M, Shoes: Gigi Soho, Bracelet: Indian Boutique, Necklace: Mimi Boutique

Beautiful and unusual pieces of jewelry always catch my eye. I saw this bracelet at an Indian Boutique several years ago and it stood out, so I grabbed it

This pretty necklace was gifted to me by one of my sponsors and it is truly a statement piece that can be dressed up or down

There is just something sassy about a pair of red heels

Every woman has elements that make her style hers and hers alone. There are always little details that make up a woman's signature style that no one else can duplicate because her style is the essence of her authentic self
I love a great handbag. I have always seen my mother, my aunts and both of my grandmothers carry beautiful handbags, so I have always had an appreciation for them and for beautiful accessories. I love the color of this cognac, butterscotchy bag because it goes with just about everything in my wardrobe.

Have an amazing day!

Painting the town Red

Hey Loves! It's  been quite a week. The passing of  our musical icon Prince came as  quite a shock to me.  I have always been a life long fan and had quite the collection of  Prince music. I have been enjoying my own private concert in the car on my daily commute and reminiscing about how much fun I had at those Prince concerts.

If you have ever seen Prince perform live in concert, you know what a great performer he was. I had some of his Miles Davis collaborations way before anyone even knew they recorded together and thanks to entertainment industry connections, I was enjoying these back when I was an undergrad in college and it looks like now a lot of those hidden gems are being released online.

On another note, Mothers day is right around the corner and I am looking forward to mothers day because it is always nice to be celebrated and I always look forward to spending it with my son and my mom. I have an awesome surprise for her this year.

I love this time of year with the great weather and sunshine, but it has been a little windy lately, which gave me a great excuse to wear this super cute red trench coat that a close friend of mine gave me. I wore it out and had a great time painting the town red:-)

Red Trench: London Fog, White T-Shirt: H&M, Jeans: Old Navy
Leopard Pumps: BCBG Paris, Clutch: Target

Sometimes you can find great stuff at Target. I have had this cute little clutch for quite some time, but it found its way into my basket when I was shopping for household supplies. Do you ever go to Target for household stuff and come out with a fashion item? LOL

Red is such a vibrant and stunning color, it is like cayenne pepper to an outfit
I seriously have a thing for trench coats and dusters and have quite the collection and am thrilled to now have this beautiful red coat

Taking a moment to relax is crucial when you are always busy

I always enjoy those moments I can kick my feet up

There is something sassy about red

Have an amazing day!

The Substance of Faith

Hey Loves! Its been a hectic week so far. I hope you enjoyed the Kale Taco recipe from last week. It has been such a busy time and so many great and unexpected opportunities have been presenting themselves to me. It made me ponder the concept of being prepared when an opportunity comes. I have come to the realization that the best protocol is not to get ready, but to STAY READY.
You never know when all the seeds you planted will begin to grow. Sometimes a seed can lie dormant for a very long time and then there is a SUDDENLY moment.

Speaking of things lying dormant, many of you follow me on my other social media platforms and were following my Food Fashion and Flow Facebook page and then I became so focused on my other social media platforms that I neglected the page and before I knew it three years had gone by without one single Facebook page update and then I decided this year to start posting on the page again. When I went there to update, I was astounded at the number of messages from people hungry to see content on the page. Please take a moment to like my page here and then you will be able to see inspirational content every day.

When you plant a seed, you have to water it and make sure it gets some sunlight and then you trust and believe that what you are watering will grow even though you can't see what is happening under the soil. That's what faith looks like. It is trusting what you can't see.
The word of God says: "Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" - Hebrews 11:1

When life doesn't make sense. Look up and rejoice because the answers come from above. In life sometimes our faith is all we have and we have to hold onto it even if those around you don't understand.

The weather recently has been chilly, but it gives me an excuse to wear my fur jacket. I am wearing a palette neutral colors and neutral colors always look perfect.

Fur Jacket: F-21, Purse: Ivanka Trump, Dress, F-21, Boots: Diba

Unkempt messy hair and don't care. Life gets messy too, but even through messy people and circumstances. Keep the faith

Always remember that a faith walk is never easy

Keep smiling through it all and have a great day!

Purrfect Leopard Accents

Good morning loves! It is nice to have some sunshine after a few days of rainstorms. I am really excited about this year! So many good things happening already:-) So how is your new year starting off?

I am wearing my signature animal print. In my world, a touch of leopard, tiger, or cheetah is always Purrrrrrfect...

I have a great love of animal print and I love it as an accent piece to different items in my wardrobe.  Animal print is a classic and a neutral that can be worn with anything and it always gives an outfit a little extra pizzazz. Do you agree? My ensemble of a  red blazer and a black dress is classic, but the animal print scarf adds that special something to an otherwise very conservative and classic look.

The right pair of ankle boots adds a nice modern edge to
 a skirt or dress.

Rainy Day in Cali...

Cold rainy days are not common in my neck of the woods, but rainy days are a good thing because they make you appreciate the sunny days just a little bit more. It is not often that I get the opportunity to wear winter clothes because it stays warm most days of the year in Southern California, but on those occasions when we have cold weather, I love to put on a great winter outfit. I hope you enjoy my round up of rainy day fashion inspiration. I found this flashback photo (the one above) of me wearing black on black on a cold rainy day just like the one we are experiencing today.

I love this look from the UK Blogger Kristabel from the

This black and white from Jessica Quirk of What I Wore is such a great look

This cute look is from Serena of Serene Saga Blog

A Classic Trench with neutral colors is a great winter look

I love this Burberry inspired look

Gorgeous look!

And here is one of my own rainy day looks

Rainy days are blessings just like sunny days:-)

My classic trench coat is accessorized with thigh high boots and an animal print bag. Do you have any favorite rainy day looks?

Yellow Inspiration

Hey loves!  I was just thinking about the color yellow and how vibrant and eye catching it can be. Through the history of this blog I have worn yellow more than a few times. Yellow is such a happy color and what better color to brighten up your summer days:-)

Here are some inspiration photos of all the different ways I have incorporated yellow into my wardrobe and be sure to check out the Limoncello Tiramisu recipe, which appeared in an earlier post and is included in this post since it is such a perfect summer recipe. I hope you have been enjoying your summer and the beautiful weather.

This post is from my birthday a few years back

Yellow and a little pattern mixing with zebra and stripes

Yellow pairs well with dark colors, neutrals and hints of other bold colors used sparingly like I have done with my shoes and jewelry

I think this just might be the perfect summer dessert. This Limoncello Tiramisu is full of bright citrus flavor. Don't worry about the alcohol content in the Limoncello Liqueur because when you cook with alcohol the alcoholic content cooks out of it and leaves only the great flavor. You can find the recipe here
and read about my hilarious experience of tasting Limoncello Liqueur for the first time.
Did you ever think yellow was such a versatile color?

 Yellow with stripes and leopard

Yellow and black always makes me think of bumblebees:-)

I hope my different interpretations of yellow encourage to experiment more with it in your wardrobe. The look above is a very recent look from this summer and I think the animal print pumps add a little pizazz to a very classic, yet stylish look.

 Have an amazing day!
