Recession Proof Polka Dots!

 

Hi Sweeties! Happy Friday! I want you to know that I am wearing a $3.00 dress. To be exact. $3.99 is what this dress cost. For the price of a Starbucks Coffee, or a bag of chips and a drink, I have a gorgeous dress! This was purchased at the Junior League Thrift Shop. As a young girl, my mother often took me with her to thrift shops where she often found gorgeous unique pieces of furniture, or museum worthy artifacts that often found their way into our home. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized that thrift stores are a great place to find amazing and often one of a kind pieces of clothing.  I often give my clothing to charities and local thrift shops and one of my favorite thrift shops is American Cancer Society Discovery Shop. Although there are many other thrift stores I like such as the one where I snagged this cute polka dot dress, Discovery Shop proceeds directly benefit cancer patients and I like knowing that I am doing my part to contribute. The Goodwill is another great thrift shop with amazing finds and it is very affordable. In this economy so many people are hurting and thrift stores are great alternatives for those who cannot afford to spend a lot of money on clothing.

The polka dot dress I am wearing is accessorized by a supporting cast of accessories I already had in my closet, such as a classic strand of pearls and a brightly colored pair of pumps and a clutch.

    I have totally started to appreciate thrift shops, due to the fact that you can recycle but most importantly in this day in age where everyone wears the same stuff thrift shops are a breath of fresh air in fashion. Love your dress you look great in it. Keep thrifting and sharing with us please.
